When you install the Gimmee browser add-on for the first time, you may want to take advantage of our testing site. We provide the ads there so you can test your new add-on and see what you can do. Google, as a third party advertisement vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on that site. The use of DART cookies by Google enables them to serve advertisements to visitors that are based on their visits to this website as well as other sites on the internet. This is the infamous "behavioral targeting" you've probably heard about. Since Gimmee resides on your computer, there is no reason for us to use cookies for anything. Gimmee won't be tracking you, ever. If the idea of being tracked doesn't appeal to you, you can easily opt out.
To opt out of the DART cookies you may visit the Google ad and content network privacy policy at the following url http://www.google.com/privacy_ads.html . Just click the big button on the right. Tracking of users through the DART cookie mechanisms are subject to Google's own privacy policies. Opting out of the DART cookies will not stop your Gimmee browser add-on from working.

Gimmee has no access or control over these cookies that may be used by third party advertisers.
Links to Third Party Websites
We have included links on this site for your use and reference. We are not responsible for the privacy policies on these websites. You should be aware that the privacy policies of these sites may differ from our own.Collection of Personal Information
Any time your browser visits a site on the internet, it must identify itself. Think of your browser as Yourself. You walk up to a door and knock. The guy inside says, "Who's there?" and waits. He won't open the door until you tell him who you are.The internet works in a similar way. Your browser sends certain information every time it takes you to a new page or site. Then that site can send the page you asked for right back to you and no one else. This happens every single time you visit a page on the internet.
When visiting the Gimmee website, data like the IP address used to access the site will be logged along with the dates and times of access. This information is purely used to analyze trends, administer the site, track users movement and gather broad demographic information for internal use. Most importantly, any recorded IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information. Gimmee never wants that.
When you install the Gimmee add-on, you create a unique user name, which creates your anonymous account. Your anonymous account is exactly that - Anonymous. No personally identifying information will ever be kept there except as noted in the next paragraphs.
If, for any reason, you send us your real physical address, your real-life name, your actual phone number or any other information which can be used to identify you or to locate you precisely, that information will be used for the purpose you intend and no other. When the reason for Gimmee to have that information has been resolved, that information will be deleted and replaced with a summary of the occurance. This summary will have a unique identifying number which will be sent to you as confirmation that your personally identifying information has been replaced.
An hypothetical example: You decide to spread Gimmee around to 10 people to win a t-shirt. Gimmee will need your physical address to ship the shirt. Once you have received the shirt, we delete your personally identifying information and send you confirmation. The confirmation number in your anonymous account will allow each of us to refer back if necessary.
If you identify yourself when installing the Gimmee add-on, sending an E-mail or filling out a web site form, any personal information provided is used only in the manner you intended at that time, and will not be given away, sold or otherwise shared with anyone outside of Gimmee. If you join one of our email subscription lists, your email address will be used for that purpose only. If you enter a contest, your email will be used for that reason only.
You do not have to provide any personally identifying information to use any of the Gimmee products, services or websites. We're glad to know you, but you can remain anonymous to us and that's just fine. If you choose to introduce yourself, we're not going to take advantage of who you are.
While you are using the Gimmee add-on, some information will be collected from you but none of it can be used to identify you. We use that information to get a better understanding of things like trends in online shopping and buying habits. Gimmee never wants your personally identifying information. We don't collect it from the site and we don't collect it when you use the addon. If anyone ever says otherwise, send them to this page.
